Bottles contng drinks are subjected for a predertemined period to a pulsating magnetic field, whose Gauss and Hertz values determine the duration and penetration of the irradiation. The bottles in crates can be held on a conveyor belt between two coils generating such currents and supplied by an impulse generator, the belt being halted for a set time while irradiation takes place. Alternatively, the filler pipe can be arranged to pass in a serpentine pattern between coils.
