[Also in Division H1] The Specification discloses charge transfer complexes of a Lewis acid and a resin having the formula wherein X and Y are H, or alkyl, the total number of C atoms in X and Y being up to 12, and n is at least 2. In specific embodiments a phenoxy resin made by the reaction of epichlorohydrin with bisphenol A is used together with 2,4,7 - trinitrofluorenone, 2,3 - dichloro- 1,4 - naphthaquinone or benzanthracene- 7,12-dione. Brilliant green may be added as a sensitizing dyestuff. Numerous examples of reactants for forming the resin and Lewis acids both of the inorganic and organic types are given. An electrophotographic plate may be made by coating the material on an Al foil or by forming a self-supporting transparent layer of the material.
