A wooden skirting board having a covering layer of P.V.C. is formed with a projecting flange 4 disposed at an angle of 90‹-100‹ with respect to an adjacent side beyond which it projects. In use, the board is positioned so that the flange either overlies the -edge regions of floor covering (Fig. 2) or abuts flushly floor covering of the same thickness and a welded joint 12 formed. In another embodiment (Fig. 4) the board is positioned with the flange along the upper edge, with the flange concealing the backing and at least part of the pile of a carpeting strip stuck to the board. |
