<p>An aminoscope for visual inspection of the liquid phase of a foetus in situ comprises a solid tapered rod at least 200 mm long with a small end of about 10 mm dia. and a large end of about 32 mm dia. The large end is convex with a radius of curvature of 55-75, pref. 60-70 mm to provide the effect of an image close to the outer end of the tube. Pref. the rod is made of PMMA. The rod is simpler to make more robust and more comfortable to use than combinations of hollow tubes and light transfer filaments or illumination probes.</p> |
