The boring head has a housing in which a number of bore spindles are mounted next to one another. The centre spindle can be driven, for which purpose part of the spindle extends above the housing. A pinion is mounted on the centre spindle, which drives a number of spindles which are mounted at either side of the centre spindle. With the exception of two spindles which are mounted at the end of the housing, all spindles have the same fixed centre distance. The two end spindles are mounted in a separate bearing housing. The position of this housing relative to the other spindles can be adjusted by a screw spindle. The two spindles are coupled by pinions. One of the spindles is driven by a belt drive. Two pulleys take up the slack in this belt.
