<p>A source of illumination is built into the centre spindle of a record player turntable as an aid to record location. The turntable (1) is driven via a chain of rubber friction wheels (8, 9, 10) from a spindle (6) coupled to a drive motor in the base. The centrally located spindle (13) is produced either of a transparent material or from a fibre optic bundle set into a base block (14). A small light bulb (16) is located immediately below the spindle and provides sufficient illumination to aid record location.</p> |
