The rotating lock and handle combination is used for furniture. The rotating locking handle is fitted on the outside of the furniture component provided with a holding handle. The locking element of the inner side is linked so that the locking element slides due to rotation of handle from a retracted release position into a locking position. The locking element (22) is provided with a toothed rack section (24). The latter is engaged with a pinion able to rotate in the handle fitting. This pinion is held on the locking handle for rotation and has a number of teeth divisible by four. The lock housing (20) has four locking positions at right angles to each other. The fitting (10) can be inserted into a circular hole in a furniture component.
