In known hot/cooking plates, in particular in glass-ceramic hot/cooking plates, there is provided in the central region of the cooking surface, below which a flat heater is located an unheated zone in which a temperature sensor of a hot/cooking plate controller is thermally coupled to the underside of the plate.
