Preferably the material is poly(para-phenylene terephthalamide). The load-bearing yarns 22 may be wrapped with a cover material 24 and coated with resin 26 or coated without the wrapping. Multifilament or monofilament non-load-bearing yarns of lower modulus may be incorporated, possibly by weaving and a resin coating may be applied after the belt has been woven. The cover material 24 may be, for example, asbestos, nylon or acrylic.</p> |
