<p>The game of chess or draughts is played by several persons. It uses a large transparent chequered board placed over a large scale map of a battle, or similar event requiring use of tactics on a terrain. Each player has a different playing piece from his opponents and places these on the chequered board to represent the arrangement of the battle forces. All pieces are played in accordance with standard rules each player having two consecutive turns. The winner checkmates his opponents' kings. Difficult terrain such as mountains, ravines, rivers are marked on the transparent board and incur penalties to cross.</p> |
