Article wrapping system - uses composite wrapping with insert sealed inside film welded around article

A packaging system has a lower spool (5) with a roll of folded wrapping film. The fold is separated to provide upper and lower walls (6a, 6b) between which an insert (8) is placed to form a composite wrapping. An article (1) is advanced onto the composite wrapping. An upper spool (3) has a roll of wrapping film (4). A jack (14) lowers the welding head (12) in front of the article, welding films (6a, 6b, 4) in front of this article and behind the previously wrapped article. The films are severed between the welds, separating the latter article.
