Copper-contg. monoazo dyes. Dyes are of formula: (where R is an alkyl residue; n is 1-3; and X is -SO2(CH2)2-Z or -SO2-CH=CH2 (where Z is a mineral or organic residue opt. eliminated by alkali)). Partic. R is CH3- or C2H5 and X is -SO2(CH2)2O-SO3H or -SO2-CH=CH2. Alternatively X is H and R is the reaction residue of a vinylsulphonic acid and a secondary amine. They are prepd. by treating a suitable azo with oxidising Cu or a Cu-precursor, and are used to dye or print natural or regenerated cellulose, wool, silk, polyamides, polyurethanes, modified polyacrylonitrile and regenerated protein fibres or leather. |
