A rotary die-cutting anvil comprises a base member 11 formed of halves 12 and 13 each half having an annular groove 14 which is engaged by a rib 16 on a resilient cover 15 in one or more pieces of e.g. polyurethane. The ends of the cover or of each piece thereof have interengaging lugs and recesses 17, 17A, 18, 18A, the end edges of the lugs 17 and 18A being convex and the end edges of the recesses 17A and 18 being concave. The cover may include an axially corrugated fibreboard sheet. The rib and groove may be reversed in position. The rib and groove may be intermittent or extend only partly round the anvil base. |
