The hydraulic system is for a traction machine, and consists of a storage vessel, a pump, control elements, and associated hydraulic motors. Releasable hose couplings are positioned between the controls and motorsin the pressure conduits of several motors, e.g. in the working cylinder of tools, or the cylinder of a trailer. - A throttled back pressure valve (23) is positioned in the pressure medium conduits (12, 13) in front of the hose couplings in the direction of flow towards the motors, with free passage in this direction. Each conduit is connected to the input path valve (24), spring loaded in the closing direction. Each control slide of these path valves is charged in direction of closing by the pressure in the associated conduit (12, 13), in front of the throttle valve. In the opening direction, each slide is charged by the pressure behind the throttle valve. The outputs of the path valves are connected via a filter to the storage vessel.
