<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a hemostat valve having a very small resistance when a guide wire or a catheter is passed through the valve by sealing the circumference of an optional sized wire and the catheter. CONSTITUTION: A hollow concave portion 14 and a bow-shaped slit 13 are provided in a dome member 11. The membrane made of a very thin material is provided between the concave portion 14 and the slit 13 along the common tangential line of the most central portion of the dome member 11. This membrane is easily broken when a guide wire is inserted and the wire can be passed through the dome portion. However, the opening of the dome portion is very small and its width and length are remarkably smaller than the whole length of the slit 13. The slit 13 is made so as to close the opening when there is no instrument in the opening, and due to a blood pressure provides a means which is able to add a sufficient force against the dome material, it is extremely larger than the opening of passing through the dome. Further, according to the slit, the blood pressure can shut a valve around there when an optional catheter or a guide wire exists in the opening.</p> |
