<p>The diaphragm metering pump has cylinder with reciprocating piston and diaphragm forming one wall of the pump chamber. The liquid to be pumped flows through pump chamber, which on other side of diaphragm is filled with pressure transmitting liquid. This chamber is connected to storage for the pressure transmitting liquid and this connection is open only when the piston is close to the inlet and dead centre. The storage chamber contains only a very small quanity of liquids. The liquid level (58a) in the storage chamber (20) is situated below the piston (23). The connection between storage and the pressure transmitting liquid chamber is situated outside the cylinder bore (22) and it connects the storage chamber (20) to the pressure transmitting chamber (37). The storage chamber (20) is sealed against the ambient air.</p> |
