Mounting rail locking slide with notched end - holds electrical equipment and has wedging action so as to clamp firmly onto rail

The application is in the mounting of electrical components on support rails and locking these in position. A slider (1) in the component is pushed forward over the lip of the support rail (4) to provide the required location. The slider (1) has an angled end (3) which gives a wedging action to clamp the rail and component (2) together whilst the opposite side of the rail fits into a recess in the component. The angled end is provided with a notch (6) which deforms the metal and gives a snap on wedge face (5). This notch also helps to stabilise the main wedge face (3).
