Electric machine ventilating system with fan impeller - has radial fan cowl connected to machine and covering impeller

The fan wheel used in the ventilating system is an axial fan wheel and air is conveyed axially by means of a separate tubular insert. This insert is positioned in the radial fan cowl concentrically to the axial fan impeller. The blades of the axial fan impeller are at least partly mased axially by the insert. The axial fan impeller has a ring which is connected to the ends of the fan blades and projects beyond the axial fan impeller towards the air inlet. The ring covers roughly two thirds of the axial width of the blades and the ring and the axial fan impeller may be made in one piece.
