[Also in Division C3] S-Triazines in which one ring carbon atom has a -N(R 1 )-R 2 -SH substituent, another ring carbon atom has an R 3 substituent and the third ring carbon atom has an R 4 substituent, where R 1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl or aryl which may be substituted, R 2 is an alkylene, alkenylene or alkylenethioether radical and R 3 and R 4 may be the same or different and are selected from -N(R 1 )-R 2 SH, OR 1 , SH, Cl, NH.NH 2 and NHR 1 , are obtained by reacting a cyanuric halide with an amine thiol of formula HN(R 1 )-R 2 SH to replace at least one of the halogen atoms by an amine thiol group of the formula -N(R 1 )R 2 SH. In the examples the compounds 2,4,6 - tris (N - butyl - 2 - mercaptopropylamino) - s - triazine, 2,4,6 tris [α- amino - # - thiol - poly (propylene sulphide)]- s-triazine and 2,4,6-tris-[N-butyl-2(2<SP>1</SP>-mercaptopropylthio) propylamino] - s - triazine are prepared. |
