<p>1508651 Laminates UNION CARBIDE CORP 27 March 1975 [1 April 1974] 12838/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A polymer body, e.g. a film of polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride, is heated to a temperature between 40‹ C. and its melting point for a sufficient time to modify its surface characteristics, after which it is treated to a corona discharge at an energy density-to-film surface of at least 9 watt-minutes/ft.<SP>2</SP>. The film is coated with adhesive and bonded to a Ni-plated steel plate. Alternatively the body can be merely treated with a corona discharge at an energy density-tofilm surface of at least 118 watt-minutes/ft.<SP>2</SP>.</p> |
