A connector is used permitting extreme miniaturisation. It is intended to allow connection to be made to the surface areas of printed circuit boards via the holes normally terminating printed circuit strips on the boards. The connector consists of an insulating rectangular block (2) which houses sprung female contacts (3) facing away from the board surface. Each contact is extended through the block at its opposite end into two or more pins or rows of pins (4, 5, 6). Pins not required can be cut flush with the slightly recessed under surface (13) of the block which allows ventilation. The pins can also be used for wire-wrap connection to circuitry.
|
