<p>Roof covering comprises insulation which is adhered to the roof underneath and which consists of polystyrene foam panels covered with roofing felt. The panels comprise narrow slots which open out towards the roofing felt, and which are pref. arranged in a regular pattern. The panels are pref. placed on a supporting layer, with the slots extending as far as the supporting layer. The slots may be rectilinear and extend in one direction or in both the longitudinal and the transverse directions of the panel, or in both the longitudinal and the transverse directions of the panel, or undulating. As stationary air is trapped in the slots and as they are narrow, slitting does not affect the insulating properties. Movements of the panel due to temp. are damped, so that there is no great stress leading to crack formation in the roofing felt.</p> |
