An automatic stacking and wrapping machine for coins has a guide section that is readily adjusted to suit different coin denominations. Coins are deposited on a rotary table (10) that uses centrifugal force to provide transfer to a feed unit (11, 12). The coils are then passed (13) into a guide section (14) with the underside closed by a mechanical gate (15). When the required number of coins are located in the guide section, the gate opens and the stack is passed to a wrapping station (18). Wrapping paper (19) is cut from a supply roll. The guide section (14) is constructed from blades that are moved by a turning action to open or close the effective bore of the section.
