<p>High-speed multilayer photographic colour negative material consists of a base with a red and a green sensitive emulsion, yellow filter layer and a blue-sensitive emulsion. The emulsions contain immobile cyan, magenta and yellow couplers respectively and Ag halide (AgX) grains with a numerical average particle size >1.0 um. Improvement is that (i) >=1 AgX emulsion contains a DIR cpd.; and (ii) the red-sensitive layer consists of >=2 AgX emulsions, the farthest from the base having >1.0 mu grains and contg. not 1.8 g Ag/m2 and is not >40 x 10-5 mole cyan coupler/m2, whilst the grain size is not >1.0 mu m in the other(s). The graininess and definition are improved without causing an imbalance of the development properties, esp. of the red-sensitive layer.</p> |
