Preferably, the cathode active material contains from 10 to 20% by weight of HgO embedded in Raney nickel. In a method of making the cathode, pulverulent HgO material embedded in Raney nickel is added to uncharged nickel-hydroxide active material and the pulverulent mixture may be compressed on to a conductor. |
