A mixing and conveying unit of an injection moulding machine comprises a barrel(3) with a central bore(31) housing a large central screw(10) and side bores(32) connecting with the central bore and housing small side screws(20) intermeshing with the large screw. All screws are divided into sections with different thread profiles and pitches. A heater(4) maintains the desired temperature in the different sections.
