The buckle has a corrugated surface split into two levels. The main portion (1a) is separated from a raised portion (3a) and a narrower end portion (2a). The fixing belt is inserted over the main portion and under the raised portion. The corrugations give an effective thickness to the buckle so that the tensioning tool is prevented from slipping over the edge of the raised portion. The tabs (4) are bent over to wedge the belt after tightening.
