<p>The finished copy passes between a pair of roller (1, 2) which remove surplus liquid from the surface. When a machine adapted for several sizes of paper is used with one of the smaller sizes, toner tends to accumulate on the unused part of the rollers, and then to mark the next following large sheet of clean paper. To prevent this, at least one of the rollers is kept always moistened with the developer or its liquid medium, pref. by pumping the fluid (7) through a pipe (6) to the roller surface. A third roller can be provided, resting against one of the others. The fluid is then directed at the line where the third roller contacts its neighbour.</p> |
