The appts. is used for the regulation of rapid tripping of an electric circuit-breaker whose tripping armature (5) is submitted to the action of a release spring (1) resting on a rack (2) having several grooves. The end of the spring resting on the rack can be inserted in one of the grooves. The rack may form part of the box (3). When the spring is in the form of a torsion bar, the grooves in the rack are cut in the form of a toothed sector with the spring pivoted at the centre of the sector.
