1504574 Vacuum band filter STRAIGHT LINE FILTERS INC 14 May 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 20331/75 Heading BID A horizontal vacuum belt filter machine comprises a plurality of belt strips 20, 22, 24 supporting a mesh filter band 28 e.g. of metal, plastic or cloth, the endless strips each being supported on a separate drum e.g. 32 at the entry end. Adjacent belt strips have overlapping joints at their edges which sealingly engage each other assisted by suction from a suction box. Liquid is withdrawn between ribs 50 through openings 46. Dewatered solids are discharged at the end adjacent motor 58. The filter material 28 is carried by vee belts on pulleys e.g. 74. The separate drums e.g. 32 are individually adjustable to separately tension belt strips 20, 22 and 24. Filter cake removal may be assisted by an air blast and the lower belt run may be washed. Annular grooves on discharge end drum co-operate with an inwardly extending longitudinal rib of each belt strip to ensure alignment of strips. |
