The tampon consists of a nonwoven (1, 11) and, arranged thereon, a removal cord (2) which is arranged, over one part (2') of its overall length, parallel to the longitudinal direction of the nonwoven (1, 11) and is wound together with it and pressed, while another part (2'', 2''') of the removal cord (2) is bent out at approximately right angles to the longitudinal direction of the nonwoven (1, 11) over one of its longitudinal edges (1'). The tampon is characterised in that the removal cord (2) lies loosely on the nonwoven (1, 11). In this way it is possible to produce a tampon in a continuous manufacturing method, that is to say in a method in which the manufacturing machine in question operates without stop periods. Compared to other products of this type or a similar type, the tampon in this case has the advantage that its removal cord (2) cannot be pulled out from the swollen nonwoven (1, 11), in accordance with its intended use, since the nonwoven (1, 11), as a result of the spirally wound cord part (2'), undergoes a contraction when a pull is exerted on the protruding cord part (2'''), which facilitates its removal. <IMAGE> |
