A case, e.g. used for carrying a small computer, has two hinged sections, each with a peripheral rim (5). One section has two recesses (7), arched to accommodate the parallel positioned knees of the user. The sections have a recessed strip area in which a length of flexible material (9) is positioned, thus covering the arched recesses (7). The ends of the flexible material form two loops (11) in which a carrier bar (12) fits. Additional lock (6) may be fitted, either side of the loop sections. Flexible material, e.g. textile may have a printed pattern.
