The curtain pelmet which is mounted to house the curtain track etc, includes an oblong element (1) having a U-shaped cross-section at right angles to the longitudinal direction wherein support ribs (3, 5) are provided for attaching a roller blind so that the roller blind itself is held by the supports (3, 5) inside the U-shape cross-section. Further support elements (24, 24) can be provided on the oblong element so that a curtain track can be mounted inside the U-section. The oblong pelmet and support elements are pref. made in one piece through the extrusion process using aluminium or plastics. The oblong element is attached above the window so that attaching the curtain track is made much easier.
