Pulsed split laser beam amplifier - employs stacked discs at Brewster angle as active elements

The amplifier is for pulsed lasers, simplifying the optical delay system, and employing Brewster angle stacked discs as the amplifier active medium. The laser output is split into two light paths, one of which is further divided to feed the active elements via polarisers and elements giving a 45 deg. change in polarisation. The two light paths are continued from the first pair of polarisers to a second pair which again feed 45 deg. polarisation elements and a further pair of active Brewster angle discs. The output from this final state is fed as two paths to a final single output point.
