<p>In an aq. emulsion based glass paint the binder contains >=1 polymer derived from a monomer of formula H2C=CR1R2 (where R1 is H, Cl or CH3; and R2 is Cl when R1 is Cl, or is -OC(O)R3 or -C(O)OR4 when R1 is H or CH3 (R3 and R4 are alkyl), or its benzyl). The improvement comprises the presence of an acid thickener which only developes its power in a basic medium, the binder being such that the binder/thickener combination is acid or neutral. Used for painting the interior and exterior of buildings. A uniform dispersion of pigment throughout the binder can be obtd. by first mixing a pigment compsns. with base and adding the mixt. to the binder/thickener mixt.; the thickener.</p> |
