Adhesive film for skis, the outside of the film being impregnated with a ski wax, being used directly as a bottom coating or being covered with a second, wax-like film which exhibits special sliding properties. This relates both to adhesive wax and to downhill wax. This means that waxing, which has hitherto been a standard, time-consuming procedure, is no longer necessary, which represents an enormous improvement, especially for touring and cross-country skiing. It is furthermore possible to effect a very rapid conversion from uphill to downhill skiing, or from one type of snow to another, without having to scrape off an old coating, as one film is simply pulled off and another one stuck on. In addition, all fixedly adhering ski coatings which have been used to date and which are generally not particularly scrape-proof can be replenished. Decorative and advertising effects can be achieved by colouring or printing the adhesive film.
