PURPOSE: A sealing structure for an organic EL display element is provided to improve reliability and lifetime of a top-emission type organic EL display element by preventing a getter from being damaged due to stress caused by Joule's heat. CONSTITUTION: A sealing structure for an organic EL display element includes a getter(24) on a side portion of the organic EL display element. The organic EL display element includes an organic EL element(22) formed on a glass substrate(21) and a sealing cap(23) for sealing the organic EL element therein. The getter is attached to an inner wall of the sealing cap.
