<p>A process for the formation of undercut regions in plastic tubes and advantageously for forming such regions in a sleeve formed on the end of a plastic tube, so that they have precision form and dimensions for the reception of a precision seal ring where the sleeve end is to be used as a joint member, in which the tube (2) previously heated at one end to soften the plastic is pushed onto an expandable mandrel (3) until it reaches the stop or shoulder (10), the whole assembly being arranged in a pressure-tight chamber (11) through which a pressure medium (9) can be passed via the inlet and outlet (7) and (8).</p> |
