An Al plate heat exchanger comprises a stack of Al plates spaced apart. The spacers are formed by beadings or indentations formed in the plates themselves and bearing against the flat surface of the adjacent plate. Pref. the beadings or studs are formed by an embossing or pressing process. The plates are pref. relatively thin, e.g. 0.3 mm thick, the depth of the beadings being several times this value. Used partic. for heat exchange between discharged air and incoming cold air in a ventilation system. |
