The automatic flash gun for the camera has a set exposure speed which is controlled by fitting the gun onto the shoe. The fixed exposure speed is obtained by a lever in the shutter controls, moved by an electromagnet powered from the flash supply gun, with the connection via contacts in the shoe. The electric connection (19a) provides a failsafe internlock as opposed to a mechanical connection which can be inadvertently operated by fitting other attachments to the shoe. It also relieves the operator from manual setting of the fixed exposure speed.
