PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the normal attitude of a light emitting diode. SOLUTION: In this component attitude sorting device where a component L1 having a transparent part Q1 and an opaque part P1 is transferred along a vibrating track T2 in a vibrating feeder, a component attitude detecting means 52 is mounted near the vibrating track T2, the component is transferred to a downstream side of the vibrating track T2 as it is when the component of normal attitude is detected by the component attitude detecting means, and an air jetting means 51 is operated when the abnormal attitude of the component is detected by the component attitude detecting means to exclude the component of abnormal attitude from the vibrating track, the component attitude detecting means comprises one or plural light projecting optical fiber strand (g) at its center, and one or plural light receiving optical fiber strands (h) located around the light projecting optical fiber strands, is mounted close to the component on a detecting position at an obliquely upper part, and detects the component of normal attitude having the transparent part at its upper part, and the component of abnormal attitude except for the normal attitude on the basis of the difference in light receiving levels of the reflected light received by the light receiving optical fiber strands.
