The pedal is for use on a bicycle and has each side raised above the centre of rotation for the spindle. This enables the user to increase the leverage efficiency of his foot movements, particularly at the top and bottom of each rotation. Each side has a flattened vee profile, the rear arm being longer than the front. Spacers are provided between the sides, parallel to the spindle axis. The lowest inner point of the vee equals the standard pedal height (h) above the spindle. The foot (4) rests on the top of the vee arms, increasing this distance (a) and the eccentricity (H).
