<p>The mechanism couples the travel rails for the crabs of two travelling cranes, so that the crabs can trael from one crane to the other. Near the end to be coupled each rail has a solenoid-operated track blocking device, working in conjunction with a locking device so that when it is removed from the blocking position the two rails are locked together. In the solenoid supply circuit is a switch fitted to one rail, operated by a cam on the other one, so that the solenoid can only be energised when the two rails are in line with each other. Each blocking device can have a supporting shaft at right angles to the rails, and with one or more components swung in and out of the blocking position.</p> |
