<p>Removal of cake from the plates of a precoat filter involves directing a jet of compressed air against the plate. The jet has a slot type cross-section. It forms a very active angle with the plane of the plate, which should be 20 degrees. The slot length should be max. of 50 mm and 1 mm wide. Air pressure should be 2 to 5 kg/cm2. The device is portable having a branch onto which a flexible compressed air hose can be joined. It consists of a length of pipe or the end of which is the slot type nozzle having lower cross-section than the pipe. The nozzle is formed perpendicular to the pipe axis by two flat plates projecting from the pipe converging to form the slot with end pieces. The system permits the filter cake to be removed dry.</p> |
