1493546 Electric couplings MOLEX Inc 19 March 1976 [26 March 1975] 11097/76 Heading H2E A terminal for attachment to a wire prior to insertion through an aperture 14 in a panel 16, comprises a nose section 24 having at one end a first pair of wing members 32 for gripping the wire conductors 18, and at its opposite end a second pair of wing members 30 which in use is crimped to conform to the cross-sectional shape of the aperture 14. The first and second pairs of members are separated by recesses 16, the edges of which define, in use, an opening through which the conductors 18 are exposed. As described, the edges of the recesses 16 define a ramp to aid insertion of the terminal into an aperture 14, stop tabs 38 on wing members 30 and stop tang 40 on a conductor support area 28 preventing terminal removal after insertion. A crimp section 22 grips wire insulation 20 in use. |
