The sugar cane harvester has a hydraulically driven mechanism with two freely rotating wheels (27) on each side of the harvester section, very near to the discs of the cutter (25) for cutting the bottom of the stalks. Two hydraulic cylinders (26) alter the position of the harvester front in relation to the ground. A chopper (14) consists of two cylinders with different dias. to which are attached tangentially cutter blades. A pneumatic cleaning compartment consists of a group of horizontal distributor drums rotating at different speeds. A second compartment for pneumatic cleaning is positioned on the discharge conveyor and has an axial extraction fan, and shock absorbers.
