A light shelf assembly includes a light shelf (10) with pins (12,14) extending laterally outward from a lateral edge, and a mounting bracket (30) for attachment to a building structure adjacent to a window (20). The mounting bracket (30) has a first track segment (40) for initial insertion of the pins (12,14) into the mounting bracket (30). The mounting bracket (30) also includes a second track segment (50) enabling one (14) of the pins (12,14) to slide between a first position in which the light shelf (10) is held in a substantially horizontal position, and a second position in which the light shelf (10) pivots downward.
