A new process is described for the preparation of N, N-dimethyl-3-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(3-pyridyl)-allylamine comprising reaction of formaldehyde, dimethylamine, and 1-(4-bromophenyl)-1-(3-pyridyl)-ethylene. This process has the advantage of producing this compound, which is useful in the treatment of depressive conditions, from simpler and less costly material than the known processes. |
