The gaps between the individual turns of the coil act as a sieve for the liq. The gap width, and hence the coil pitch, can be adjusted from outside the filter by compressing or stretching the coil. No pre-filter is required and then cleaning procedure is quick and simple. The filtration efficiency can be varied without dismantling the filter.
