The vehicle has a movable wall (10) as a support against the stacked up bales. The wall (10) slides along two slide pieces (14) on the tilting frame (15) of the vehicle. The loading surface (6) fixed to the tilting frame (15) has impactors for pushing the loading area parallel to the frame. The movable wall (10) has a parallel stop-plate (16). The movable wall (10) consists of a row of parallel, vertical bars joined to the vehicle (11). The vehicle has a pick up unit (1) for picking the bales up from the field and consists of continuous chain-conveyors (2) which convey them to a lifting plate (5). A row of horizontal forks (7) move upwards above a vertical plate (8) leaving a space free between the plate (8) and the loading surface (6).
